This is a slideshow of the process I use  for a watercolour portrait from my first basic sketch which is then transferred to watercolour paper and paint applied in many washes  producing the darker tones and so creating the final image.


I am indebted to the kind owners of this gorgeous Bassett Hound for allowing me to photograph her while walking along the promenade at Bexhill on sea.


Unfortunately I didn't make a note of the dogs name at the time
